Assembly and Operation

Out of the Box:
Ready to race once wheels are installed and battery charged. Minimum 2-hour charge recommended.

Battery Charging:
Uses a charging plug and USB charger. No disassembly required. Allow battery to cool 30 minutes after full charge. Remove charger within 30 minutes of green light. Store battery fully charged. (We use a countdown timer like item 386419780550.)

Crash Durability:
Minor crashes are unlikely to cause significant damage.

Fuel Mixing:
Uses a 25:1 gasoline-to-oil ratio (151.4 ml per gallon). Fill the small compartment of the mixing jug to the 25:1 line with mineral-based 2-cycle oil, then fill the gas compartment to the 25:1 line. Recommended: Evinrude Johnson Premium TC-W3 Mineral 2-Cycle Oil, UPC 745419363093 (available at Walmart in 1-gallon or 16oz). Other mineral 2-cycle oils may be used.

Radio:
6-channel BER-TRC4 LCD radio primarily uses 2 channels. Trim adjustments are under the back cover:

  • Top left: Steering trim

  • Top right: Throttle & brake trim

  • Bottom left: Steering control extents

  • Bottom right: Throttle control extents

Starting Instructions

  1. Ensure the buggy and radio are powered on and responding.

  2. Set the choke (red lever on carburetor) to vertical closed position.

  3. Press primer bulb 3–4 times or until fuel is visible.

  4. Gently pull starter rope until engaged, then pull swiftly. Use short pulls; do not pull rope completely out.

  5. Crank until engine fires (1–3 pulls).

  6. Turn off choke, then pull 1–2 times to start.

Break-In Process

  • Initial Run: Idle to 1/4 throttle for ~5 minutes. Let engine cool completely.

  • Second Run: Repeat for ~10 minutes, then allow cooling.

  • Third Run: Gradually increase throttle for 8–10 minutes, then cool.

  • Subsequent Runs: Continue for ~5 runs, monitoring debris. Clean engine runs cooler.

  • Final Break-In: Full throttle for one tank of fuel.

  • Post-Break-In: Check and snug exhaust pipe.

Maintenance Before Each Run:
Ensure all bolts are tight. Use Lock-Tite on clutch and brake bolts. Clean bolts and holes with alcohol and a Q-tip for proper adhesion.
