Rovan 360A RC 1/5 Scale Overview

The Rovan 360A RC is a 1/5 scale gasoline buggy designed for drivers who want a factory-upgraded aluminum platform with proven large-scale performance. Powered by a 36cc air-cooled two-stroke engine, the Rovan 360A RC delivers strong torque, smooth throttle response, and reliable output for off-road driving on dirt, grass, and open terrain.

Rovan equips this model with CNC aluminum suspension components, metal drivetrain parts, and a reinforced metal roll cage. As a result, the buggy arrives ready for aggressive use without requiring immediate aftermarket upgrades.

Chassis, Drivetrain, and Suspension

The Rovan 360A RC uses a rear-wheel-drive layout with rear axle braking to simplify maintenance while maintaining durability. CNC aluminum front and rear suspension components improve rigidity and steering precision. In addition, 8mm metal shock absorbers manage suspension travel and keep the chassis stable over uneven surfaces.

Front and rear anti-roll bars reduce body roll during cornering. A metal differential shell and 9mm half shafts handle drivetrain loads reliably during acceleration and braking.

Engine and Exhaust Performance

At the heart of the Rovan 360A RC sits a 36cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, two-stroke gasoline engine equipped with a Walbro 1107 carburetor and NGK spark plug. The Dominator exhaust improves exhaust flow and throttle response. Therefore, power delivery stays predictable during extended run sessions.

Electronics and Radio System

Electronics include a 2.4GHz six-channel BER-TRC4 LCD radio system with a stable operating range of up to 150 meters. A 60KG metal gear servo controls steering, while an 18KG metal gear servo manages throttle and braking. A built-in SC6V 2000mAh battery supplies consistent power to the electronics.

Assembly and Operation – Rovan 360A RC

Out of the Box: Ready to race once the wheels are installed and the car battery has been charged. A minimum two-hour charge is recommended.

Battery Charging:
The buggy includes a charging plug and USB charger, allowing charging without disassembly. Allow the battery to cool for 30 minutes after a full charge before operation. Remove the charger within 30 minutes of reaching full charge to extend battery life. Store the battery fully charged when not in use.

Crash Durability:
Minor crashes rarely cause significant damage. The aluminum suspension components and metal roll cage provide added protection during normal off-road driving.

Fuel Mixing – Rovan 360A RC

Use a 25:1 gasoline-to-oil ratio, equal to 151.4 ml of oil per gallon of gasoline. First, fill the oil compartment of the mixing jug to the 25:1 mark. Then, fill the gasoline compartment to the same level. Use non-synthetic, mineral-based two-cycle oil. Other compatible mineral oils may also be used.

Radio Setup and Operation

This six-channel radio primarily uses two channels. Trim adjustments sit under the rear transmitter cover and control steering trim, throttle and brake trim, steering travel, and throttle travel.

Starting Instructions

Ensure the car and radio power on and respond correctly.
Set the choke to the vertical closed position.
Prime the carburetor three to four times, or until fuel becomes visible.
Pull the starter gently until engagement, then use short, quick pulls.
Once the engine fires, turn off the choke and pull again to start.
Never crank more than three times with the choke engaged.

Break-In Process – Rovan 360A RC

Initial Run: Run the buggy at idle to one-quarter throttle for approximately five minutes, then allow the engine to cool completely.

Second Run: Repeat the process for ten minutes, then cool down.

Third Run: Increase throttle slightly and run for eight to ten minutes, then cool.

Subsequent Runs: Continue for about five cycles while monitoring airflow and debris. A clean engine runs cooler.

Final Break-In: Run at full throttle and burn through one full tank of fuel.

Post-Break-In: Check and snug the exhaust pipe.

Before each run, inspect all bolts and fasteners. Apply thread locker to clutch and brake assembly bolts after cleaning threads with alcohol.

CNC aluminum upgrades add strength where needed, while high-strength ABS components elsewhere in the chassis help absorb impacts and reduce secondary damage during off-road use.
