Rovan BLT360 2WD Short Course Truck Race Ready RTR 1/5 Scale 36CC Clear

The Rovan BLT360 is a true 1/5 scale short course truck built for drivers who want gasoline power, large-scale realism, and race-ready durability. From the first pull, this Rovan BLT360 delivers strong torque, consistent throttle response, and confident handling across dirt, gravel, and open off-road terrain. As a result, it suits both aggressive bashers and experienced racers who demand dependable large-scale performance.

Rovan BLT360 Engine and Performance

At the heart of the Rovan BLT360 sits a 36cc four-point fixed gasoline engine designed for reliable power delivery and extended runtime. Because gasoline engines maintain steady output, this short course truck performs consistently during long sessions. In addition, the Dominator side exhaust improves flow while delivering an aggressive sound that matches its race-ready character.

Power transfers through a reinforced drivetrain system engineered to handle high load conditions. Consequently, acceleration feels smooth while traction remains predictable. An 8000 RPM wear-resistant clutch further manages power delivery, which helps protect drivetrain components during hard launches.

Chassis and Suspension Design

The Rovan BLT360 chassis uses a 5mm CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum hard-anodized base for strength and rigidity. Because the chassis resists flex, suspension geometry stays consistent even under stress. Furthermore, front and rear anti-tilt bars work with 7mm hydraulic shocks to control body roll and maintain stability at speed.

Reinforced front and rear shock absorber brackets absorb repeated impacts. As a result, the truck remains composed during jumps, braking, and rapid direction changes.

Size, Tires, and Protective Structure

Built to full 1/5 scale proportions, the Rovan BLT360 measures approximately 965 x 527 x 311 mm. With a long wheelbase and wide stance, it stays planted during aggressive driving. Additionally, high-performance nail off-road tires provide reliable grip across mixed surfaces.

The split PC body shell mounts over a full protective roll cage. Therefore, internal components remain protected during rollovers while maintenance access stays quick and simple.

Electronics and Control System

Control comes from a 2.4G six-channel RC-X6 radio system. Although only two channels are required for operation, the additional adjustments allow fine tuning. As a result, drivers can dial in steering and throttle response to match terrain conditions.

High-strength 60KG metal gear servos handle steering and throttle duties. Because these servos resist wear, steering precision stays consistent even under heavy load. Powering the electronics, a 6V 4500 mAh NiMH battery delivers stable voltage and reliable runtime.

Assembly and Operation Rovan BLT360

Out of the Box: Ready to race once the wheels are installed and the car battery has been charged. Minimum 2 hours charge recommended.

Battery Charging

The car features a charging plug and comes with a USB charger. No disassembly required for charging. Allow battery to cool down for 30 minutes after full charge before operation. Remove charger within 30 minutes of full charge (green light) to prolong battery life. Store battery fully charged. Recommended Countdown Timer: https://shorturl.at/FdYdP

Crash Durability

Minor crashes are unlikely to cause significant damage. These cars are tough.

Fuel Mixing Rovan BLT360

Uses a 25:1 gasoline-to-oil ratio (151.4ml per gallon). Fill the small compartment of the mixing jug to the 25:1 line with oil, then fill the gas compartment to the same line. Use Non-synthetic aka Mineral Based 2 cycle oil. Other brands can also be used.

Radio Setup

This 6-channel radio essentially only uses 2 channels with this car. Trim is on the 4 adjustments under the cover on the back of the radio. Top left – steering trim, top right – throttle & brake trim, bottom left – steering control extents, bottom right – throttle control extents.

Starting Instructions

Ensure the car and radio are powered on and responding.
Set the choke on the right side of the car (red lever on the carburetor) to the vertical closed position.
Press the primer bulb on top of the carburetor 3 to 4 times, or once fuel is visible.
Gently pull the starter rope until it engages, then pull swiftly. Do not pull the rope out completely; use short quick pulls.
Crank until the engine fires (usually 1 to 3 pulls).
Turn off the choke, then pull the rope 1 or 2 times to start the engine.
Never crank more than 3 times with the choke on.

Break-In Process Rovan BLT360

Initial Run: Start by running the car at idle to 1/4 throttle or less for about 5 minutes. Let the engine cool down completely after this run.

Second Run: Repeat the same process for 10 minutes, then allow it to cool.

Third Run: You can start pushing it a little harder, but keep in mind that a new engine generates more heat due to increased friction. Run for 8 to 10 minutes, then let it cool.

Subsequent Runs: Continue the process for about five runs, being mindful of any debris that could block cooling. A clean engine runs cooler.

Final Break-In: After these runs, you can run the car at full throttle and let it burn through an entire tank of fuel.

Post-Break-In: Be sure to check and snug up the exhaust pipe after the initial break-in process.

Before each run check bolts throughout the car to ensure they are tight. Lock-tight is recommended on clutch and brake assembly bolts. clean bolts and holes with alcohol and a q-tip to ensure lock-tight adhesion.

You will be tempted to upgrade some of the parts to aluminum. But aluminum is unforgiving and can transfer impact force into surrounding components. High Strength ABS Plastic will flex and bounce back without damage, which often makes it the better choice.
