Description
Rovan CNC 360SS Polished Aluminium 36cc Gasoline Buggy Overview
The Rovan CNC 360SS Polished Aluminium 36cc Gasoline Buggy is a true 1/5 scale gasoline off-road platform designed for rigidity, precision, and mechanical realism. It uses an all-CNC aluminum chassis and suspension system that eliminates flex under load. As a result, this Rovan CNC buggy delivers consistent handling, stable geometry, and predictable response during aggressive driving.
Rovan builds the CNC 360SS entirely around machined aluminum rather than composite materials. Consequently, the platform holds alignment, preserves suspension geometry, and maintains drivetrain efficiency during extended run sessions.
Chassis, Drivetrain, and Suspension
This 1/5 scale Rovan CNC buggy features a fully machined aluminum chassis with CNC suspension arms and reinforced mounting points. In addition, front and rear CNC suspension components retain geometry under load, while metal shock towers and reinforced mounts absorb repeated impacts.
A heavy-duty clutch manages power delivery smoothly, and metal drivetrain components support sustained high-RPM operation. Because the chassis does not flex, suspension tuning remains consistent across varied terrain.
Engine and Exhaust Performance
At the core of the Rovan CNC 360SS sits a 36cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, two-stroke gasoline engine tuned for durability and usable power. A tuned exhaust system supports efficient heat management and stabilizes operating temperatures. Therefore, throttle response remains smooth and controlled even during long run cycles.
Electronics and Radio System
This model ships mechanically ready to run but does not include a radio system. You must install a compatible receiver and battery before operation. The platform supports standard 1/5 scale electronics, allowing experienced builders to select their preferred radio and servo configuration.
Assembly and Operation – Rovan CNC Buggy
Out of the Box:
Install the receiver, radio system, and compatible battery before operation. No additional mechanical assembly is required.
Crash Durability:
Minor crashes rarely cause significant damage. The CNC aluminum structure resists bending and maintains alignment during normal off-road impacts.
Fuel Mixing – Rovan CNC Buggy
Use a 25:1 gasoline-to-oil ratio, equal to 151.4 ml of oil per gallon of gasoline. First, fill the oil compartment of the mixing jug to the 25:1 mark. Then, fill the gasoline compartment to the same level. Use non-synthetic, mineral-based two-cycle oil.
Radio Setup and Operation
Radio system not included. Install and configure the selected radio equipment according to manufacturer instructions before starting the vehicle.
Starting Instructions
Ensure the buggy and installed radio system are powered on and responding correctly.
Set the choke to the vertical closed position.
Prime the carburetor three to four times, or until fuel becomes visible.
Pull the starter gently until engagement, then use short, quick pulls.
Once the engine fires, turn off the choke and pull again to start.
Never crank more than three times with the choke engaged.
Break-In Process – Rovan CNC Buggy
Initial Run: Idle to one-quarter throttle for approximately five minutes, then allow the engine to cool completely.
Second Run: Repeat the process for ten minutes, then allow the engine to cool.
Third Run: Increase throttle slightly and run for eight to ten minutes, then allow cooling.
Subsequent Runs: Continue for approximately five cycles while monitoring airflow and debris.
Final Break-In: Run at full throttle and burn through one full tank of fuel.
Before each run, inspect all bolts and fasteners. Apply thread locker to clutch and brake hardware after cleaning threads with alcohol.
