    Assembly and Operation

Out of the Box: Ready to race once the wheels are installed and the car battery has been charged. Minimum 2 hours charge recommended.

Battery Charging: The car features a charging plug and comes with a USB charger. No disassembly required for charging. Allow battery to cool for 30 minutes after full charge before operation. Remove charger within 30 minutes of full charge (green light) to prolong battery life. Store battery fully charged. Countdown timers are commonly used to prevent overcharging.

Crash Durability: Minor crashes are unlikely to cause significant damage. A real-world 20 MPH impact into a tree resulted in under $20 in repairs.

Fuel Mixing: Uses a 25:1 gasoline-to-oil ratio. Fill the small compartment of the mixing jug to the 25:1 line with oil, then fill the gas compartment to the matching line. Non-synthetic, mineral-based two-stroke oil is required. We have had excellent results with Evinrude Johnson Outboard Premium 2-Stroke Engine Oil, which minimizes carbon buildup and avoids plug fouling. Other mineral oils may also be used.

Radio: This 6-channel radio essentially uses 2 channels with this car. Trim adjustments are located under the cover on the back of the radio. Top left is steering trim, top right is throttle and brake trim, bottom left controls steering travel.

    Starting Instructions

Ensure the car and radio are powered on and responding.

Set the choke on the right side of the car (red lever on the carburetor) to the vertical closed position.

Press the primer bulb on top of the carburetor 3 to 4 times, or until fuel is visible.

Gently pull the starter rope until it engages, then pull swiftly using short, quick pulls.

Crank until the engine fires, usually within 1 to 3 pulls.

Turn off the choke, then pull the rope 1 or 2 times to start the engine.

    Break-In Process

Initial Run: Idle to 1/4 throttle for about 5 minutes, then allow the engine to cool completely.

Second Run: Repeat the same process for 10 minutes, then cool completely.

Third Run: Increase throttle slightly and run for 8 to 10 minutes, then cool.

Subsequent Runs: Continue heat cycles for several runs, ensuring cooling airflow remains clear.

Final Break-In: Full throttle operation is allowed. Run a full tank of fuel.

Post Break-In: Check and snug the exhaust bolts. Before each run, inspect all fasteners. Thread-locker is recommended on clutch and brake bolts. Clean threads with alcohol before application.

You will be tempted to upgrade some parts to aluminum. Don’t. Aluminum is unforgiving and transfers impact energy, often causing cascading damage. High Strength ABS plastic flexes, absorbs shock, and rebounds without destroying surrounding components. In many locations, plastic parts outperform aluminum.
