Rovan WLT360 1/5 Scale RC Truck Overview

The Rovan WLT360 1/5 Scale RC Truck 36cc Gasoline 4 Wheel Drive is a large-scale off-road truck engineered for power, durability, and aggressive all-terrain performance. This is a genuine, high-strength Grade A model, not a factory second, grade B, or older unit. Rovan builds the WLT360 around a reinforced racing truck platform to deliver strong torque, stable handling, and dependable long-run performance in demanding off-road environments. The red truck body and full protective roll cage complete a rugged competition-ready appearance.

A 36cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, two-stroke gasoline engine powers the truck. As a result, the Rovan WLT360 delivers strong acceleration, smooth throttle response, and reliable power delivery during extended driving sessions.

Chassis, Drivetrain, and Suspension

This 1/5 scale Rovan WLT360 uses a 5mm CNC one-piece 6061-T6 aluminum alloy hard anodized chassis that resists flex under load. Consequently, suspension geometry remains stable even during hard landings and aggressive driving. A shaft-driven four-wheel drive system distributes power through front, center, and rear metal differentials for consistent traction across loose terrain.

Front CVD half shafts and rear axle-style transmission shafts handle drivetrain loads efficiently. In addition, front and rear anti-roll bars improve stability during cornering and high-speed transitions. Seven-millimeter hydraulic shock absorbers manage suspension travel and absorb impacts during off-road operation.

High-performance shredder off-road tires mounted on reinforced wheels provide dependable grip across dirt, gravel, sand, and rough surfaces.

Engine and Exhaust Performance

At the core of the Rovan WLT360 sits a 36cc four-point fixed gasoline engine tuned for durability and usable torque. An LT performance exhaust pipe improves throttle response and supports efficient heat management. Therefore, power delivery remains smooth and controlled even during long high-RPM runs.

An 8,000 RPM wear-resistant clutch manages engagement precisely, while the reinforced metal clutch cup support cover protects drivetrain components during aggressive operation.

Braking and Differential Control

Dual-disc differential braking provides strong and balanced stopping power. As a result, braking remains predictable even on loose or uneven terrain. Front, center, and rear differentials distribute torque efficiently, allowing the truck to maintain traction and control under acceleration.

Electronics and Radio System

The Rovan WLT360 includes a non-LCD 2.4GHz six-channel RC-X6 radio system designed for reliable signal performance. Steering control uses a 60KG metal-gear servo equipped with a CNC servo arm, while throttle duties rely on a matching 60KG metal-gear servo. Consequently, steering response remains precise and consistent under heavy loads.

Electronics draw power from a 6V 4500mAh NiMH battery that supports extended run time, allowing long sessions without frequent recharging.

Body, Roll Cage, and Protection

A separate PC material truck shell covers the chassis and protects internal components. An easy-to-remove full protective roll cage shields the drivetrain, electronics, and fuel system during rollovers and heavy impacts. Therefore, the platform maintains durability even during aggressive off-road use.

Assembly and Operation – Rovan WLT360

Out of the Box
The truck is ready to race once the wheels are installed and the onboard battery has been fully charged. A minimum two-hour charge is recommended before the first run.

Battery Charging
The vehicle includes a charging plug and USB charger, allowing charging without disassembly. After a full charge, allow the battery to cool for approximately 30 minutes before operation. Remove the charger within 30 minutes of reaching full charge and store the battery fully charged when not in use.

Crash Durability
Minor crashes rarely cause significant damage. In practice, the reinforced chassis, suspension, and roll cage absorb typical off-road impacts without compromising alignment.

Fuel Mixing – Rovan WLT360

Use a 25:1 gasoline-to-oil ratio, equal to 151.4 ml of oil per gallon of gasoline. First, fill the oil compartment of the mixing jug to the 25:1 mark. Then, fill the gasoline compartment to the same level. Use non-synthetic, mineral-based two-cycle oil. Many drivers prefer premium TC-W3 mineral oils; however, other compatible mineral oils may also be used.

Radio Setup and Operation

The included six-channel radio primarily operates on two channels for this truck. Steering trim, throttle and brake trim, and travel limits adjust through the four trim controls located under the rear transmitter cover. Install four AA batteries in the transmitter before use.

Starting Instructions

Ensure the truck and radio system are powered on and responding correctly.
Set the choke lever on the carburetor to the vertical closed position.
Press the primer bulb three to four times, or until fuel becomes visible.
Gently pull the starter rope until it engages, then use short, quick pulls.
Crank until the engine fires, typically within one to three pulls.
Turn off the choke and pull the starter one to two times to start the engine.
Never crank more than three times with the choke engaged.

Break-In Process – Rovan WLT360

Initial Run
Run the truck at idle to one-quarter throttle for approximately five minutes, then allow the engine to cool completely.

Second Run
Repeat the process for ten minutes, then allow cooling.

Third Run
Increase throttle slightly and run for eight to ten minutes, then cool down.

Subsequent Runs
Continue for approximately five cycles while monitoring airflow and debris.

Final Break-In
Run at full throttle and burn through one full tank of fuel.

Post-Break-In
Check and snug the exhaust fasteners after the initial break-in process.

Before each run, inspect all bolts and fasteners. Apply thread locker to clutch and brake hardware after cleaning threads with alcohol.

Material Guidance

Although aluminum upgrades may appear appealing, aluminum transfers impact energy and can cause secondary damage. High-strength ABS plastic components flex and recover; therefore, they often provide better real-world durability during aggressive off-road use.
