Assembly and Operation – Rovan 360C

• Out of the Box: Ready to race once the wheels are installed and the car battery has been charged. Additionally, a minimum 2 hours charge is recommended before the first run.
• Clear Unpainted Bodies: For unpainted clear bodies, paint the inside using Tamiya polycarbonate (PS) paint for proper adhesion and durability.
• Metalflake Tips: For a deeper metalflake look, spray a very light coat of clear, then sprinkle a glitter additive, metalflake, or pearl while the paint is still wet. After that, back it with your favorite colors for a stronger finish. Also, we recommend practicing first on scrap plexiglass for paint testing.
• Battery Charging: The car features a charging plug and comes with a USB charger, so no disassembly is required for charging. After charging, allow the battery to cool down for 30 minutes before operation. Also, remove the charger within 30 minutes of full charge (green light) to prolong battery life. Finally, store the battery fully charged. Recommended Countdown Timer. Countdown Timer
• Crash Durability: Minor crashes are unlikely to cause significant damage. Furthermore, these cars are tough!

Fuel Mixing – Rovan 360C

• Fuel Mixing: Uses a 25:1 gasoline-to-oil ratio (151.4 ml per gallon). First, fill the small compartment of the mixing jug to the 25:1 line with oil, then fill the gas compartment to the 25:1 line. Additionally, use non-synthetic (mineral-based) 2-cycle oil for best results. We have had great results with Evinrude Johnson Premium TC-W3 Mineral 2-Cycle Oil (UPC 745419363093), available at Walmart in 1-gallon or 16 oz, which helps minimize carbon buildup and reduces plug fouling. However, other brands can also be used.
• Radio: This 6-channel radio essentially only uses 2 channels with this car. Meanwhile, trim is on the 4 adjustments under the cover on the back of the radio. Top left: steering trim. Top right: throttle & brake trim. Bottom left: steering control extents. Bottom right: throttle control extents.

Starting Instructions

1. First, ensure the car and radio are powered on and responding.
2. Set the choke on the right side of the car (red lever on the carburetor) to the vertical closed position.
3. Next, press the primer bulb on top of the carburetor 3 to 4 times, or once fuel is visible.
4. Then, gently pull the starter rope until it engages, then pull swiftly. Also, do not pull the rope out completely, and use short quick pulls.
5. After that, crank until the engine fires (usually 1 to 3 pulls).
6. Finally, turn off the choke, then pull the rope 1 or 2 times to start the engine.

Important: Also, never crank more than 3 times with the choke on.

Break-In Process – Rovan 360C

1. Initial Run: First, run at idle to 1/4 throttle or less for about 5 minutes. Then, let the engine cool down completely after this run.
2. Second Run: Next, repeat the same process for 10 minutes, and then allow it to cool down.
3. Third Run: After that, push it a little harder, but keep in mind that a new engine generates more heat. Therefore, run for 8 to 10 minutes, then let it cool.
4. Subsequent Runs: Continue for about five runs, while staying mindful of airflow and debris. As a result, a clean engine runs cooler.
5. Final Break-In: After these runs, run at full throttle and let it burn through an entire tank of fuel.
6. Post-Break-In: Finally, check and snug the exhaust pipe after the initial break-in process.
7. Before each run, check bolts throughout the car to ensure they are tight. In addition, Lock-tight is recommended on clutch and brake assembly bolts. Also, clean bolts and holes with alcohol and a Q-tip to ensure lock-tight adhesion.

Although aluminum upgrades may look tempting, aluminum is unforgiving and can cause extra damage behind it. In contrast, high-strength ABS plastic will flex and bounce back, so it often survives off-road impacts better.
